Schlitzie
Schlitzie was born Simon Metz in 1892 but toured as a woman reportedly because he had to wear the full cut dresses to cover up the diaper he wore as a result of his incontinence. His lack of distinct male facial characteristics permits the female persona to operate very convincingly. The extreme ambiguity of his facial and cranial features, not to mention his sexuality, allwed Metz to perform under such pseudonyms as Monkey Girl and Last of the Incas.
